Same with Cozart....bench city and play the kids. Jose Iglesias, Ender Inciarte, Daniel Murphy, Melky Cabrera, Albert Pujols, and Jose Altuve are the only players last year to whiff less than 7% of the time and chase at an above league average rate. Depending on how improved the lineup is if he can walk more and get on base 90+ runs is impossible. Portuondo is a 29-year-old Cuban defector who posted a 3.63 ERA in the minors last season. The fact that Peraza chased as many pitches as he did and only whiffed 6.6% of the time is incredible. If he's batting towards the bottom of the order, as might be the current plan, his fantasy value would take quite a hit. For those of you who bought into Peraza, how are you feeling? Reds lineup should be improved, great home park, and the guy had 2 60+ steal seasons in the minors. The Reds' depth chart on their website, as of now, has Peraza backing up at SS and CF with Phillips, Cozart, and Hamilton manning the positions up the middle.
Yeah he is very close to droppable after this awful start, I thought I was getting a steal at 120 ADP, he usually has great plate discipline and was a joy to own last year but his current numbers are very bad. Color me concerned now. What a dumpster fire of a start to the season. ratio 3 years in a row while decreasing his ground ball rate those 3 years.
