The credits said the songs were by Harold Arlen (he can be good, but in movies often (usually) is not) and Burton Lane ("On a Clear Day" and "Finian's Rainbow") - and I think one or two others I didn't know and don't remember. Lily Mars is cold, calculating, and cruelly ambitious. I was sorely disappointed.
The book wasn't funny. There's never anything that stays the same for twenty-four hours together unless it's this one thing: Lily was a small-town girl who stormed Broadway with her charm and "that other something." The book wasn't funny.

Judy Garland beautiful and very funny! I had watched the Judy Garland movie one which this book was based and was excited to read it because the movie was so funny. The only bad part was the songs.
