Sharing interests and experiences is also one of the quickest ways to form new friendships. I finally picked up a rifle again after five years out and found the Rifle Shooting club to be extremely warm and welcoming. The Classical Modern Dance Society has a series of activities including selling cupcakes, teaching free ballet lessons and special performances (mob dance), raising money for the Breast Cancer Care organisation. Some of my friends joined societies that related with their culture, religions and other hobbies. We all found societies to be a good way to meet new people outside of our course and accommodation. Most of my close friends I met through Mixed Netball, a social sports society, but I have also met people at other sports clubs such as Boxing and Mixed Hockey.

I had never ridden before and I can warmly recommend students, experienced or unexperienced, to join the club. You do not necessary need to participate in every lesson; you can simply drop in when there is an interesting workshop. Polo is fascinating and requires a high degree of coordination and team spirit. I highly recommend getting involved and making the most of your time here, it will help turn a good year into a great one. Classical & Modern Dance society (CMD) has been a big part of my university experience, and they have classes in lots of different styles, including Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary, so it is really nice to be able to try something new.
The WBS building is really modern, and the undergraduate learning space and café are a few of my favourite spots to work in a more relaxed setting.One factor that drew me to WBS was the flexibility of the courses on offer. We envision to fuse with a variety of other dance styles, giving a wider appeal to students.Warwick Gaana Dance’s main aim is to promote its dance style through performances and society-organised events, bringing students together and promoting leisure. Notably, we participated in Kings of Gaana, a national University Competiton, and emphatically won the competition in 2017, being crowned the best Gaana Dance Team in the UK!Gaana Dance is an energetic, expressive and upbeat form of street dance that originates from South India.
