I believe middle school students of all cultures will be able to relate to these poems in an enjoyable way. I give it a 3/5. The varying opinions towards love are hilarious. I was too caught up in trying to understand what Soto meant by each line he wrote to enjoy the story. This captures teenaged love very well. One line that I do remember distinctively that I understood and loved was "From saying how much I love you. I would recommend this book to someone who likes romance novels.Although I do love metaphors and symbolism, there wasn't enough moderation between figurative writing and "normal", direct writing. Partly Cloudy is a book of poetry about love in the adolescent life. However, I don't like how this book is so short and leaves you hanging on the edge of the end of the book. The author captured the excitement of the first kiss, the devastation of a breakup, the wondering if "he" likes me, the yearning when "she" is away.

I often refer to it as 'a mix of sunshine and cloud'. I will totally give this book 5 stars by the detailed poems of each page. Print book. Perhaps what I liked best was that the boy and girl poems weren't all that different in the end. The storks take babies that the clouds are creating to their natural parents. I loved how Soto did a half of the book from a girl's point of view, and the other half from the boy's point of view. Having a similar poem, but different points of view I think would be a great second book to complement this one...then again, it may be too repetitious to have the same story, just different points of view...but it'd be great to use fromSuper cute teen book full of poetry.

Each poem in this collection is told from the perspective of an adolescent who is “in love.” The first half of the poems are written from the perspective of a girl while the second half of the poems are written from the perspective of a boy.
