This was grey, dull, boring and nothing like Nancy Mitford’s portrayal. Linda (Lucy Gutteridge) and Tony meet opposition to their engagement from both families; Polly Montdore returns from India. The success buoys her mood enough to reconcile with Polly, who is consoling the loss of Boy's baby with a new admirer.
The story was interesting, and it was nice to see some actors when they were very young. Film technique and style dated but still very funny and entertaining.

Judi Dench shows her class but the experience now of watching the child actors feels like they are all being played by Bonnie Langford in her most extreme Stage School Child Actor mode; very stilted performances. This is a great show about several families before and during WWII. This is a mildly enjoyable show set in England, with the wonderful Judi Densch. I like that this is in a series where I don't have to sit down and watch the whole show.
